How to Sign Up for MS Project Trial? (Prerequisite for PSA Ep13)

Microsoft Project

Perform the following tasks to sign up for Project Online Essentials Trial:

  1. Login to https://portal.office.com
  2. Open the catalog: https://admin.microsoft.com/AdminPortal/Home#/catalog
  3. Scroll to find Project Online Essentials:
    1. Click to Open it.
    2. Click on the option Get Free Trial.
    3. On the confirmation screen, click Try Now.
    4. When signup is successful, click Continue.  

  4. Navigate to Active users:https://admin.microsoft.com/AdminPortal/Home#/users
  5. Select the user to assign Project Online Essential License. After assigning the license, click Save Changes. 

  6. Click Home, Install Office.

  7. For Project, change the Version (32 or 64-bit) as per your system requirement. Click Install to download the software. This will download the setup file. 

  8. Run the Setup file to install MS Project on your system.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation Add-in for Microsoft Project

  1. Open the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54299
  2. Check the System Requirements and Installation Instructions
  3. Download (32 bit or 64 bit), and Install. 

  4. After installing the Add-in when you open MS Project, you will see a Project Services tab, this settings under this tab will be used to connect to Dynamics 365 Project Schedule.
